Novels you loved, novels that made you see the world in a new way, novels that made you give up writing for a month cause you couldn&#8217;t imagine writing that well.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She kicked it off by nominating three herself:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Intuitionist by Colson Whitehead<br \/>\nMotherless Brooklyn by Jon Letham<br \/>\nWinter&#8217;s Bone by Daniel Woodrell<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then her readers took over.<\/p>\n<p>I just compiled the list: <del datetime=\"2006-07-13T18:53:37+00:00\">285<\/del> <del datetime=\"2006-07-15T04:23:40+00:00\">284<\/del> 283 books (excluding dupes). Just in time for your summer vacation!<\/p>\n<p>(Note: I didn&#8217;t cross-check any of these. I didn&#8217;t try to exclude books that didn&#8217;t meet Miss Snark&#8217;s criteria &#8212; e.g. some are over 10 years old. I didn&#8217;t include authors&#8217; names when a book title wasn&#8217;t specified.
