This part of the story: easy to follow.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I struggled to understand the &#8220;other&#8221; part of Goethe&#8217;s Faust. The part after Gretchen&#8217;s death. Have you ever read it? Crazy.<\/p>\n<p>Then I came across a bit mentioning that the play is an alchemical allegory. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.levity.com\/alchemy\/faust.html\">Really good piece on that, here<\/a>. The Alchemical Drama of Goerthe&#8217;s Faust, by Adam McLean.<\/p>\n<p>It all makes sense, now.
