We are led . . .

We are led to Believe a Lie
When we see not Thro’ the Eye,
Which was Born in a Night to perish in a Night,
when the Soul Slept in Beams of Light.
God Appears, and God is Light,
To those poor souls who dwell in Night;
But does a Human Form Display
To those who Dwell in Realms of Day.

  1. Love’s Secret by William Blake.

    Never seek to tell thy love,
    Love that never told can be;
    For the gentle wind does move
    Silently, invisibly.

    I told my love, I told my love,
    I told her all my heart;
    Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears,
    Ah! she did depart!

    Soon as she was gone from me,
    A traveler came by,
    Silently, invisibly
    He took her with a sigh.

  2. Kirsten says:

    Language has not the power to speak what love indites:
    The soul lies buried in the ink that writes.
