K,

I started to leave a smart-ass comment aasking what you've been inhaling lately, when I re-read your title.

(Ahem . . . re-thinking comment...)

Actually, this statement of yours, "Quantum physics attempts to peer into a dimension where space and time don’t exist in the way our senses would conscribe them . . ." is quite true. And given that, then . . . Okay!

I, for one, refuse to believe a LOT of what the "world" seems to accept quite readily. As in (pick your favorite disaster scenario: Global Warming, Swine Flu Pandemic, Ozone layer holes, shortages in your favorite commodity or element, and many more in my lifetime).

" . . . a quote from one Nan Akasha who says she chooses not to believe in the recession." So why NOT refuse to believe in "the recession?" Does that truly mean that, "the implication being that one can make unpleasantness go away by squeezing one’s eyes shut or something?" Or rather, that the recession is only true to the extent that OTHERS believe it is?

Kinda depends on what you mean by "believe in." How much of ANY recession is merely a product of loss of confidence? And likewise, how much is the alleged "recovery" merely a product of restored confidence; a tenuous thing at best?

Yeah, I know. A circular argument. Shall we get into metaphysics? What IS "reality," anyway?

But, this is a hell of a well-written post. I DO believe in that.
