To your question: I had a dream from childhood. It was, to fly. Fast. Far. To swoop and soar and glide and do rolls and loops far above the earth below. I was very fortunate to have the chance to live that dream for several years, flying F-4 Phantom jets off the USS Forrestal. In a word, Wow! Did I make the world a better place or save lives? Probably not, directly. But what a fantastic experience, shared by such a small percentage of the world's population. I consider myself extremely fortunate/blessed (you choose). John K,
